I’ve finished pruning the fruit trees and everything that doesn’t move is mulched – including the rhubarb, broad beans and garlic. I’ve sown some celery, spinach, lettuce and carrots in the propagator. I planted out some more winter salad seedlings (rocket, cos lettuce, perpetual spinach, chicory, pak choi) to give me a continuous supply of greens to go with some sprouted seeds.
It’s a good time to order seeds. Try Koanga or Kings for a great selection of edible plants, compost crops and flowers for decoration and bee-forage. Their websites and catalogues also have lots of information about what, when and how to sow.
